PXO Awarded Contract for Training Material for Equinor´s Raia Project in Brazil
Rio de Janeiro, 6.10.2025:
PXO is proud to announce to have been awarded a contract from Equinor to develop and deliver training material for the Raia project.
The contract encompasses development and delivery of training material for the production vessel (FPSO), Subsea system and onshore plant (GEPO) and is part of Equinor’s commitment to competence development for the Raia field.
The Raia project is one of Brazil’s largest natural gas development projects, located in the pre-salt region of the Campos Basin, approximately 200km offshore. It has recoverable reserves exceeding 1 billion barrels of oil equivalents (BBOE). When the field is in operation in 2028, Raia is expected to supply up to 16 million standard cubic meters (MMSCMD) of gas per day, thus supplying around 15% of Brazil’s total gas demand.
The project features a pioneering development concept for Brazil, with gas treatment taking place offshore directly on the FPSO unit. The specified gas will be transported via a 200 km pipeline to Cabiúnas in Macaé, which eliminates the need for onshore facilities. This approach reduces carbon emissions and increases efficiency.
“We are honored to be selected for this important project and shall be looking forward to contributing our expertise in training and technical documentation,” says Leif Olav Moe, CEO of PXO.
PXO AS will be supported by the Stavanger based company Visco AS for development of training animations.
The contract will take effect on 10.10.2025 and marks a new chapter in the collaboration between PXO and Equinor in Brazil.
